Combo kits

I remember they advertised about combining kits for character customization, anyone know how this worked?  I remember in particular they said about a medic sniper.

I think that's where the customizer kit comes in to play.  On the spawn screen there is a customize tab.  Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it's the only place I can think it would be.
