To see or not to see?

So we've talked before about politics and war and religion and generally we seem to stay away from it, but I have to say that yesterday I saw some videos that just tear me up inside. Earlier in the day I put up a video of our troops in Iraq in the video of the day box. I later did some searches on iraq to see what else is out there and what a fucking list I got. Video after video of our troops getting sniped by some lame ass Iraq or some other middle eastern asshat. As I watched these clips, I couldn't help but think that this guy is someone's father, brother or son. Is getting a hole in your head while standing on a busy street with Iraqis any different than being on the front line going toe to toe? Everyone over there is someone's father, brother, son, wife, daughter, sister and all it takes is one second to be in the wrong place, wrong time. I even contemplated switching my support to bringing the troops home, but I still can't do it. I think if we leave that country today, we've not only created a terrorist haven, but the entire world will hate us more than they do now for spilling the milk and not cleaning it up. Bush put us in this fucking mess and now our soldiers are getting fucked for it.
So now I struggle. Am I any different posting that video than the guy taking pot shots on our troops and putting his shit up on youtube.com? Do I contribute to the hatred?
So you tell me..... do you want to see our troops kicking ass or would you rather sit in ignorance? Honestly, I'd rather see them kicking ass so I know there's a little payback, but this is your site too. Vote now and vote honestly.

This "mess" started long before Bush came into office..
This "mess" came from years of bad foreign politics.
This "mess" is the only way to "hit the nail on the head".
If our government backs down now or did back down after 9-11 we would be in a bigger "mess"
I just wanted to add that I do not agree calling our war a "mess".. I think we focus to much on being the "nice guy". Our country hurts itself to much worrying about collateral damage. Remember that the planning of 9-11 started while Clinton was in office. In my opinion both parties messed up. Our main concern now is to make sure that our troops over there have our full support and also to make sure that all the troops that died, did not die for nothing. Lets finish what we started. Please understand that trying to be democratic with some of these extremists will not work, and will never work. They look for reasons to kill. The only real issue i see is that when we take out 1 of them there replaced by 5.

My View Is this, We had to fight the Radical Muslims sooner or later, Expecally After 9/11. They Hate Us, Since the Crusades. this Christan - Muslim war has been happening for Century's. Think Of Whats Happened In our life time Hawkes, Remember the Iran Hostatage Crises, Lybbia, Buarutte, Somalia, The First time they tried to Blow up the twin towers and a Lot that I have missed. This war has been going on for yrs. Its just in the Spot light now
I do think Bush and his advisers didn't do a good enough job in the beginning of the Iraq offensive . They went in think we would kick ass and they would bow to us, they Underestimated the terrorest. And this war is far from over. I support the Troops that are over there. My Wife and I even fight about this because I said If need I would go ( I'm a 38 yr old fat guy if they need me things are bad )she disagrees, but if thats what it takes to give my children the freedom I have enjoyed, How can i not.
As far as watching Videos, I say go for it, I watch footage of WW2, Korea, Vietnam even the Preseason Gulf war 10 yrs prior ( even watch that Live in the 90's ). I think Good or Bad the world is more informed about what happens. If you find it offensive, Don't watch. But I wouldn't feel bad.
I don't know what else to say but I'm sure Ill think of something

Speaking as a former soldier, I say post away. It helps to remind us of just how valuable the freedoms we have in this country really are.

I'm very happy to say that YouTube removed the videos of the troops getting sniped due to violation of terms. While I can't say that the videos they show of our troops rocking the world are any different, I'm obviously biased and am fine with that.

I doubt Clinton would do any better now than he did when he was in office. WTC 93, somolia, Riyahd, the African aspirin factory, Chinese Embassy, Kosovo, etc etc etc
It's fun to bash Bush but most of the sheep don't remember Clinton sucked balls for the most part.
Joe's lesson of the day "Pretty much all presidents are worthless" It's how the system works they can't do everything they promise in the time alloted.

/agree
No matter what your political alliegances are, remember that most politicians are in it for themselves, and that the politics involving both political parties in America are hurting us more than they are helping us.
