I'm beginning to understand now why people at Thanksgiving dinners often make it an effort to discuss for what they are thankful. I get it now, but unfortunately for this year, there's now way for me to turn back the clock and relish such things over a Thanksgiving dinner.
If I could, I would probably, nay, definitely would be more vocal to my thoughts on the college football landscape.
My faith in the system was beginning to waiver; the thought of a then unchecked Big Ten conference contender in Ohio State sneaking into a National Championship game... well that gave a lot of people cause for concern, myself included.
The fact had remained throughout an extensive period of football that Ohio State never really played anyone. And regardless of how loud everyone throughout the continental United States shouted out that it was a travesty that they should be ranked so high, no one seemed to listen.
But I soldiered on minding my tasks like a sweet precious angel, finishing all my vegetables and being considerate to people wherever I could.
Up until this point I had no idea what was in store for me, for being so vigilant in the face of uncertain times. To my surprise there was found to be my name on a list of Santa's most deserving, and was only revealed when Santa arrived early this year!
- I couldn't believe it! He gave Michigan State a victory over Ohio State just for me? I asked Santa.
- Santa turned to me with a grimaced look on his face and said "Whoa ho ho, not just for you! that kind of thinking could get you in trouble much like it did Ohio State wide receiver Evan Spencer for stating the Buckeyes would “wipe the field” with Bama and FSU. No, this is for all the good boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen throughout the landscape that held dear to the idea that Florida State and one team from the SEC are the most deserving for the shot at national championship!"
Well, perhaps this Santa isn't so secret as he delivered for so many of us, but I am thankful nonetheless. Something I will be sure to remember for next Thanksgiving.
TLDR; ? GO SPARTY!!
