I got a color laser today, and when I try to install the f'n software that comes with it, it says it needs an admin to install.  I'm the only user on this computer, and it says admin under my title....does this happen with every HP product?  Anyone know a way around this?

Never mind.

I just downloaded it from their website.

Not sure why these fucktards keep sending CD's with their printers....they never work.

Not sure why I keep buying them, ....I don't remember this BS until I try to install from a cd.

I assume that any hardware I buy is going to have outdated drivers on the cd anyway.

When I build my new computer decided not to even deal with the printer CD. Just too much bloat as normal. Attempting to bundle a store to order ink and paper into printer drivers. Lucky the printer seemed to be the ONE device Windows 7 had generic drivers that picked it up.

Thats more to do with Windows 7 actually, and not HP. I was having that admin issue as well, and not with one distinct program, but several.

In such cases you'll have to right click on the program file (generally an .exe), then click on security, then edit the permissions.

Sometimes what happens is that if you have a user other than admin, a program will default to that user rather than admin on startup, which can be rectified just by assigning permissions to the user.
