I pick this up tomorrow.  Believe me its not in NEARLY this good shape.  I got these pics (currently my wallpaper) from a Turbo Coupe org online, they scanned in the original car and driver article from 1987.

Some stats for you not in the know:

1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.

2.3l intercooled turbo inline 4 cylinder.

190hp 240lbs/ft torque.

Tremec 5 speed

8.8" differential.

I used to have an 86 Merc cougar XR7 turbo, and ever since have wanted another.  (I successfully killed at at about 180k miles by taking it to test and tune at the local drag strip and selling it the next day for 100 bucks hehe).  And, ever since I first laid eyes on the 87 Tbird I've wanted one.

It's not in the greatest shape, 145k miles, faded paint and the previous owner decided to spray paint some of the panels so it looks kinda horrid.   But, its pretty solid for a WNY car thats almost 20 years old.

The only thing that makes it undriveable is the fact that it came with ABS and the ABS booster is bad, theres a "new" one that comes with the car, it just has to be installed.

Not looking to put tons of cash into it right away, just something to tinker with occasionally, and hopefully by next summer have something really nice and interesting ...and fun to drive (that wont set me back too much in the fuel department).

Been talking to the WOW guys about it so I just figured I'd share what it looks like with everyone so you know what I'm talking about.

BTW, its black, and eventually hope to make it look like the black one here.

I call dibs on the Sweet Pickles bus (let's see if anyone knows that reference) in the background of pic 2 and the above ground pool in the back of pic 4!!!!

P.S. - Nice car btw!  Turkley was a big T-bird guy until he drove his into the ground.  You might notice a trend in his abuse of cars.  (he's had 6 since I've known him, and at least 2 or 3 more before that).  I'll get some pics of my pimp-ride up here in the next few days.  Everyone else, let's see some shots of your whips!!!! HOLLLAAAAA!!!

Yah, its in fairly decent shape considering its ben through a few winters here in Buffalo.  Got some rust underneath, starting on the doors and quarters/fenders, nothing big yet though.  Hopefully easy to clean up for sure.

First I'm going to make sure she's mechanically sound (lots of parts for these are obsolete and not made anymore).   Find what I need to, buy from ford the other stuff that I'll need to keep her running.

Hehe, nice ref there, that van is actually a friend of the friend who's house I'm keeping the car at.  They are children of old custom vanners from the 70's so they have some sweet rides also.  We're redoing my buddies van at the moment.  Tubbing it out and gonna put a monster motor in it in the next year or 2.  I'll see if I can drum up some old pics from when we first did it in 93.

OK, cya back to the BG's (ugh)

Alright, as promised, some pics of my car.  It's nothing too fancy, and it certainly isn't fast, but it's small and nimble and fun to throw around.  I took these during the tech inspection at a recent auto-cross.  You can see Turkley stumbling around in a Colorado t-shirt in the back of one and TheGout's rocking a sweet Van Halen shirt in the back of another.  Let's see some other peoples' rides!  It may disappoint some of you to find out that, despite my ghetto avatar, I'm not actually ridin' spinnaz.  Sad
