   Job Description
PC Network Specialist I (Job Opening 351390) - This position is primarily concerned with the timely resolution of customer issues in a desktop field service or remote desktop support capacity.  These duties are often performed under the direct review and supervision of network support specialists and first-line department management.  Remote and hands on diagnosis and repair of PC desktop and laptop systems and their connectivity in a wired or wireless environment.  Installations, moves, adds, and changes to a variety of desktop PCs and their peripherals.  A moderate number of assignments and projects may be completed independently, subject to frequent review and approval of senior PC network specialists and department managers.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field, or degree from technical school, or 1-3 years experience equivalent to a PC Network Specialist, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must possess excellent communications and telephone skills.

Working knowledge and experience with personal computer software and hardware, LANs and PC networks is necessary.

Knowledge of electronics, telecommunications and data communications systems is also required.

   On going:   Staying current on industry and technological developments and standards as they pertain to PC networking protocols, Local Area Networks, computer equipment and systems, communications protocols, interfaces and operating systems and platforms.

The MedCtr is weird. There are I.S. desktop guys and then Desk top guys hired directly into a department or shared between two departments. The IS guys just seem to deliver new hardware and shit you ordered. The kid that I work with in Pharmacy splits time between two departments. I don't think it's too terribly difficult. If it's henky software just reimage. If its hardware order new parts. Business casual attire sucks balls though....I'd rather wear scrubs if I am in the ICU crawling around on the floor.

Whatever man, I hate my job and the mid to upper tier pay level for this one is comparable to what I am making.  I'd much rather work at OSU carying around desk tops in khakis then have to go through 6 months worth of back logged data for Pfizer again.
