Thinking about pulling the trigger on this tommorow. What do you guys think?
SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X 100269VXL Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail (debating adding another in crossfire if i can save money somewhere else)
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series 70SB088600007 7.1 Channels PCI Express Interface Sound Card - Retail
CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power ... - Retail
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ - Retail
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders w/ Tech Guarantee - THIS IS A WINDOWS 7 FREE UPGRADE
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 140W Quad-Core Processor Model HDZ965FBGIBOX L3 Cache 6MB- Retail (HOLY BALLS)
ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
The total on this is about billion dollars. Its going into a Antec 300 case, using a high quality cpu and graphics card so im not sure I need to upgrade for cooling. Probably will add a fan.
Thoughts? Is money being spent on a component that should be spent on something else? I could dump the X-FI and get a some other case, or even add another 4890 for crossfire, is the x-fi worth it?

Not sure why a sound card would need PCI-e speed, lol. I probably bias I use to getting on-board sound since it easily matches my non-surround sound needs.

I have to go with the others here, In most cases you won't hear the difference between cheap AC97 sound and the SB titanium.
If you're running a huge 7.1 media surround sound setup through your living room, maybe, but with a regular set of speakers you're wasting money on something you'll never experience.
Otherwise, sounds good. grats!

2009: "I'm just hanging out playing with my wii" is an acceptable statement with no perverse meaning.

I agree about not needing a ridiculous sound card. An SB Live! has worked just fine for me, although my setup is very much 2.1 at the most. If you're doing some surround sound madness then perhaps you can justify it. Other than that, this thing should be pretty freaking ridiculous.
