What server? Is everyone? I made a char on Bodhum to try out. Someone pick a server for everyone to use. And pick a starting location. (don't know how hard it is to travel if people start at one of the two others)

Gysahl? I wanna wait til after release to get it....want to see the reviews. It sure is pretty. I would like a static party that plays once or twice a week....if you wanna play more outside of the party then roll a second toon or something.

in one of the folders, C:\Users\blahblah\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\bca2a8ae\metainfo
do you see the .torrent files? if so run the torrent files instead of trying to get the F'ing patcher to go.

So, that worked muck better but...
Got a false positive on the temp files that the installer creates and had to install two times since I forgot to "Allow" after the first try then...
Installed and patched, got the login screen, click on "Log In" and...
Nothing
/sigh

I logged in for a short bit last night... I think I need a gamepad and a new computer (at least a new vid card). The cinematics are awesome...haven't had much of a chance to really play yet though. Using the keyboard is hell.

Yeah, a controller is a must have, I've been using a corded 360 controller. Not playing much right now. School is spankin' that ass.

mouse sucks. Found a temp fix that makes it 100x better (overrides software mouse and uses hardware, I can post the link when I get home if anyone wants). Why does a PC game require a gamepad to be semi-playable?
I'm on Gyshal btw, started at the port, starts with an L, can't think of the name atm. Gunna put a good 6 hours in tomorrow in hopes of it getting better. Might even borrow a corded 360 controller to see if it helps.
Also, anyone try using Vent? Was having issues with it not recognizing my PTT key while the game was in focus (even windowed) last night
