New Computer
«

So I finally have all the parts for the new computer i've been building for past couple months.
I put all the parts in its place and what not and it was not posting. After 2 days of trial and error, I finally broke down and went to some forums. Come to find out My Phenom II 940 is not compatible with the Bios of my M3a79-T Deluxe out of the box. I have to get another processor just to get it to post, then upgrade to the new bios... *sigh* hopefully after I talk to a couple of my co-workers I can steal one of their processors for a couple hours tomorrow. (Assuming I can get it to work)

I had a similar problem on a build once, and it was that the motherboard was grounding out on the case.

OK. I got a new processor, flashed bios. everything is working processor side.
It booted up and it says the following
Primary IDE Master [Not Detected]
Primary IDE Slave [Not Detected]
SATA 1 [WDC WD64...etc]
I tried switching the pins in order to detect the DVD Rom and its not working. I took the Dvd player out of my old computer so i know it works. Do i have a bad cable? or am I just being retarded with the pins?

What pins did you switch?
If you're talking about the drive jumper, I've seen some motherboards not play nice with Cable Select. Try setting the drive to master. Also, make sure the IDE Primary controller is enabled in your BIOS.

OK I am officially on new uber gaming machine.
What happened was the IDE connector on my mobo is directly underneath my massive video card. When I closed the case the connector got yanked out and bent the pins. With a steady hand and some needlenose pliers i fixed the problem.
Now i get to Install WoW and redownload all my addons etc...
