I'm 28, I'll give you Pretty Hate Machine but other then that he's just a whiney douche who sounds like Phil Collins with a cold reading poetry from a middle girls notebook.

As far as the clueless n00bz planet, it's not that hard to find out about fake angsty cookie cutter music like NIN.

LMAO cookie cutter. This is just another one of your troll attempts, so I won't comment too much into it.

1. Trent's influence on his apprentice, Marilyn Manson. Need I remind you that MM was the last Rock Superstar before the balance of power shifted to boy bands Nsync and Backstreet Boys, then subsequently into the hands of Hip Hip, and R & B where it still remains. Cant say that I was a fan of MM, but what I can recognize is that his squire held the last mainstream Rock throne. Not to mention he's had an impact on the rise of Techno and Trance.

2. NiN's popularity on the gaming industy. Several games have featured Trent's work be it single influenced pieces, or entire soundtracks such as with Quake. Much of Trent's current popularity can be attributed to computer owning geek technophiles, which could account to 1 in 8, up to 1 in 5 of us online.

3. NiN's impact on the music process itself. He's been in several law actions against the music industry, and their corporate greed. It may very well be that the future of music, and how it is distributed will be the result of how he has acted, and will act in the future. He's released much of his recent material for free, and has in a couple instances verbally encouraged his fans to steal his music from stores to spite the current greedy music industry.

1. It's all still pop music, whether you lable it rock or r&b, not that there is anything wrong with that.  People like pop or it wouldn't become pop music.  He's found a formula that works for him to sell music to the masses, and more power to him.  ACDC still holds the mainstream rock throne.  Look at the sales figures form their new album, which happened to sound like the 16 before it.

2. Mr RezSNORE wasn't the first to be in a video game soundtrack, won't be the last.

3. Trent is just catching up to what Dischord Records on the east coast and SST on the west have been doing since the late 70's early 80's.   Waita come in 30 years behind the times.

the 'pop' in "pop music"  stands for popular. So when you think about it even Death Viking I Hate My Mother and Babies music is pop, since it's popular in some crowds.

I think it has to chart well in order to be truely pop.

I mean seriously, what 13 year old girl does he rip this shit off of?

"The Collector"

I pick things up
I am a collector
And things, well things, they tend to accumulate
I have this net
It drags behind me
It picks up feelings
For me to feed upon

There are times, plenty of times
I wish I could let it go
But they start to breathe, and they start to grow inside me
There are times, plenty of times
I wish I could let it go
But they start to make me think things I don't wanna know

[Chorus:]
I'm trying to fit it all inside
I'm trying to open my mouth wide
I'm trying not to choke and
Swallow it all, swallow it all, swallow it all, swallow it all

I am the plague I am the swarm
All your hurt sticks on me
And I keep it warm
They will make me stay, they won't let me leave
There are so god damned many of them it gets hard to breath

[Chorus:]
I'm trying to fit it all inside
I'm trying to open my mouth wide
I'm trying not to choke inside
I am a good boy and I will
Swallow it all, swallow it all, swallow it all, swallow it all

Every last one [x20]

Techno and trance were doing fine before NiN arrived.

I generally enjoy NiN, even if it makes me have to sleep on Thrun's couch.

You know what's reall awesome is anyone from Columbus covering Katy Perry.
