Operation Rising Star

Hey guys,

As you may have seen on another thread, I'm competing in theis year's Operation Rising Star, formerly known as Military Idol.

Well, I have a conundrum that I need help with. Next Saturday, I need 2 songs from the 1980's to sing, and I'm having trouble finding groups that aren't so high voiced. I'm a baritone/bass with a little tenor experience, but it can be a stretch to stay in the tenor range for too long.

So my request is for you guys to help me find some good songs to sing from the 80's that are in my vocal range. My wife suggested a Metallica song, which I'll look through what I have to see if there are any good ones for me. Genre doesn't really matter, just remember it's a vocal competition, so no "shouting" songs, please.

Well guys, thanks for the suggestions, although almost all of those are either 70s or tenor parts.

Alas, I didn't make it through this round, which surprised much of the audience. Almost everyone says I got robbed and I should have made it at least 2 more rounds after this, if not to the finals. There were quite a few contestants that sang worse/forgot lyrics that made it through. Oh well. Nothing I can do except wait utnil next year and try again at my next base.
