I don't know, I think games do desensitize.  I saw a very short, gnomelike person on the street yesterday and almost threw my cat at him and shot him.  It was kind of scary.

P.S. I have also stomped on mushrooms and once curled into a ball and rolled down a hill to collect gold rings.

I painted myself yellow and ran around going nom nom nom nom nom nom nom all day.

I got arrested the other day for sticking branches upright in the ground and claiming they were totems....

I've been doing the same repetitive tasks over and over when women ask me to in hopes of becoming exalted with them.

It's crazy, no matter how many times I do things to women I still hated by all of them. My rep never goes up. Guess I should see if they actually have any quests for me before I start.

I think the wedding ring works as a debuff for women, it just increases their aggro

I just need to stack up on plus to "hit" gear. My cologne and hair gel slots are still filled with greens.

I find having [balls the size of watermellons] and [a pointy guitar]  work well.

See, the trick with gaining faction with women is that there is a random number generator built in whenever you finish a quest. Sometimes you'll gain faction, sometimes you'll lose it. Here's a tip: keep doing the harder and harder epic quests (especially the collection quests) and you'll consistently gain positive rep. Warning: don't try to ask to do group quests. You might quickly become hated.

I found it's actually better to pre-gather quest items before getting any quest, that way you don't have the timer run out on you, and you sometimes get bonus "thoughtful" rep points. Mind you, like the old honor system, the Women Faction is a sliding scale for rep, and unless you keep working on it, you'll soon lose rep fast and be demoted.

My problem is no matter how many quests I do I always end up staying in the "Friendly" zone.

Perhaps you could level up your "roophies" skill.  While you may end up with even worse reputation with the associated faction, you might get to see more end-game content.

I like where your heads at. We should all follow gr0n's power leveling guide.
