Hey Gang,

I was wondering if anyone had any previous experience with recording activity on your PC Screen.

At work, they would like to make a video walkthrough of someone using our product for training purposes.  Our software is web based so all it would be is a video recording of someone talking about the system while clicking on different tabs, links etc.  It looks like we can do something like this using our training software (WebEx) but it will not record sound without using their conference call company.

I did some searches on the internets and found software that looks like will do this but I am not comforable using random software at work if I don't know what it does or where its from.  Here's the link to the one I found so far: http://www.ejoystudio.com/oripa-screen-recorder/index.htm

Does anyone have any experience doing this?  And if so, what do you recommend for us?  Free is always better but the company might (lol) pay for it if it isn't too much.  I would appreciate any assistance anyone could offer.

Thanks!

Camtasia Studio by TechSmith  http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp
It records into their format that you can edit and export as just about any format or will record into an AVI.  We use this a lot at work.

Only thing it doesn't do is record the video overlay layer if you're watching a movie.

Troyer's right.  I used Camtasia recently and it is very sweet software.  You can get a 30 day trial with no limitations or watermarks.  I think you'll like it.
