I keep hearing a story around where I live about something like this. The story goes that a self storage place had a locked up garage that had not been payed on in years, so it auctioned it off under the rule that the lock could not be cut until it was paid for. Nobody new what was inside. It was won and when the guy opened it there was a '60's model Corvette.
Is this a urban legend? Anyone else heard it?

Has to be an urban legend - storage places never let their units go unpaid for years... not even months.  It's theirs.  They don't auction it off.
