Title: E3 Post by: Varg on June 06, 2011, 11:49:19 AM So, E3 starts tomorrow. What games do you hope/expect to see? I am really excited about seeing what Battlefield 3 looks like and hoping beyond hope on Planetside Next.

[yt=425,350]TC2yMKMENdg[/yt] And....Oh my. Title: Re: E3 Post by: Snackcakes on June 07, 2011, 12:42:19 PM the gameplay footage of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 are pretty bad ass
Title: Re: E3 Post by: BCBrent on June 07, 2011, 01:00:13 PM Finish the fight.... again...
One one hand, I really hate the fact that they are making another Halo trilogy, especially considering there is no Bungie. I like Master Chief, and I am curious to see the rest of his story, but automatically making another trilogy seems like milking the franchise. But then again, I will likely pick it up launch day and play the crap out of it, so I guess I am part of the problem. :P I also heard that Xbox live is getting streaming live tv this fall. http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-20069346-260/e3-2011-live-tv-coming-to-xbox-this-fall/ - That i am very interested in... Yes, yes, and yes. Bumped from 400,000 poly's per car in Forza 3 to 1,000,000+. And yup, that's the Top Gear test track at the minute mark. Fucking. Sexy. Title: Re: E3 Post by: Nightstalker on June 07, 2011, 08:42:07 PM Damn, what can you do with 1+ million polygons that you can't do with 400k, unless they are adding unseen sections such as more interior/undercarriage or a trunk etc.
Well I guess i could see it in some instances like the rear flow a the 4 second mark, if that's actually a honeycomb model, and not a texture. Of course the round lights would have to be high poly as well.. Damn who does those models. Title: Re: E3 Post by: Jim Tressel on June 08, 2011, 04:29:17 AM Quote Damn who does those models. Someone with a lot of spare time. Those extra polygons went into the insane level of detail. All of the car shots in the vid are the actual in-game models. The contrast of that against a well-timed Jalopnik article here (http://jalopnik.com/5809421/the-ten-best+looking-16+bit-cars/gallery/1) is pretty amusing. Title: Re: E3 Post by: Varg on June 09, 2011, 12:07:46 PM Battlefield 3 looks awesome:

Title: Re: E3 Post by: JackelMaster on June 09, 2011, 04:44:41 PM planetside 2, Dust 514 and Xcom
If the way they envision Dust 514 works out that game is going to be ass. Dust 514 is the FPS companion to EVE Online. So whatever you do in Dust 514, effects the players in EVE and vice versa Title: Re: E3 Post by: Varg on June 09, 2011, 05:34:23 PM I am really wanting to try Eve online, I know I am late to the party but it still looks fancy and I heard the big pvp is fun.
Title: Re: E3 Post by: Varg on June 09, 2011, 05:37:08 PM The Wii U looks interesting for sure. I think if its priced right it could be a hit. It just doesnt look appealing to me at this point though.
Title: Re: E3 Post by: Jim Tressel on June 09, 2011, 09:02:46 PM LOL, love the avatar Varg

Well I hope it at least invigorates interest back into the original genre, which they will hopefully reproduce. The Dust/EVE integration is cool. Title: Re: E3 Post by: Stugots on June 10, 2011, 09:07:58 AM Dust 514 sounds cool....but only on ps3, which sucks hard.
Title: Re: E3 Post by: Kastil on June 10, 2011, 11:46:58 AM The Wii U unit probably will be in the regular price range of $300 or so but the controllers are going to cost a shitload. I can see them going for $100 per.
Title: Re: E3 Post by: Jim Tressel on June 10, 2011, 09:07:27 PM I don't know how many of you were Twisted Metal junkies like I was as a teenager, but this is fucking rad

It's very disturbing). Anyway...

Title: Re: E3 Post by: Jim Tressel on June 13, 2011, 01:38:42 PM Close, but no. Rampage where the kid goes on a massive killing spree.
Title: Re: E3 Post by: Nightstalker on June 13, 2011, 09:50:34 PM I liked that crushing buildings rampage.
Then it's theme successor King of Monsters. |
