Title: Fear Factory WTF Post by: Nightstalker on September 18, 2009, 07:50:28 PM so I was chilling waiting for the new release, then look them up and see because of some Burton faggotry they have split?
Raymond Herrera and Christian Olde Wolbers went to Arkaea which is supposed to be like a heavy Linkin Park or something [yt=425,350]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xt0NF9DQrV0&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xt0NF9DQrV0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt] Burton Bell and Byron Stroud went to City of Fire, which is shit without Herrera's drums [yt=425,350]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JHC98ZBe2Vs&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JHC98ZBe2Vs&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt] This is too much for even the video puppy to fix. Title: Re: Fear Factory WTF Post by: thrun on September 18, 2009, 08:05:45 PM So wait, they split again after the reunion that was supposed to happen? I never much gave a shit about them but one of the guys I play with is way in to them, and hangs out with Dino a bit. I got all fucked up (he was sober the whole time as far as I know) and ate cake with him and made him sign my jean jacket once, the guy is a hoot.
Title: Re: Fear Factory WTF Post by: Nightstalker on September 18, 2009, 08:18:54 PM I never much gave a shit about them This is a sin. But yes, they are split. Though I can't quite get clarity as to what the hell is going on. It seems that Herrera and Wolbers are still in the band contractually, and Burton tried to "start a new band" without Herrera and Wolbers and named it Fear Factory, though obviously since it had the same there were legality issues, and they cancelled their concerts... Genius So now Herrera and Wolbers have gone with 2 noobs to make the teenie bopper band Arkaea, which has 8 songs that were supposed to be for Fear Factory. Burton in his faggotry has gone on with Stroud to make some gay Vancouver band that is City of Fire. I gather that Fear Factory is supposed to be continuing work on the new Album, I guess with Burton/Stroud and obviously without Herrera/Wolbers. Thats tragic, though its also my understanding that Gene Hoglan will be drumming for them, and I think you know who that is. Title: Re: Fear Factory WTF Post by: thrun on September 18, 2009, 08:49:48 PM I just can't get in to those overly compressed trebley guitars drum triggers almost always anger up my blood to. I like there to be warmth in the tones.
I get in to it with my friends about Godflesh all the time to. Arguably some heavy, heavy fucking music. But I just can't listen to to much of it because it doesn't sound thick enough. I like there to be warmth in the tones. I can't really get into some grunting or grumbling of many metal bands, though Burton does it, it balances out when he starts hitting the notes. And when starts hitting the high one's its awesome with Herrera machine-gunning the drums, case in point: 540,000 Degrees Fahrenheit: [yt=425,350]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fdm6bMiXCYw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fdm6bMiXCYw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt] Act of God: [yt=425,350]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ALV6iztJ4wY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ALV6iztJ4wY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt] downloading both cd's...I will report which one is gayer If you decide to upload some FF, Archetype and Transgression are 2 good albums IMO. Shock is an awesome single song too, though probably not worth uploading the entire Album for. Title: Re: Fear Factory WTF Post by: thrun on September 19, 2009, 04:16:13 AM The vocals in the 540,000 video remind me of what baroness has been doing of late. I think yours may predate baroness though so you can reverse who reminds who of what if you want.
[yt=425,350]a_U2ZFe1wtc[/yt] As far as the machine gunning stuff, I always think slow and deliberate will out heavy extra beats per minute any day. Case in point: [yt=425,350]uTtf1PK4ftE[/yt] I can see the argument for more BPM's from a technical standpoint but when I want really technical music I always end up listening to prog rock, which I know isn't for everyone. I will never deny that this is some major fagoting, but especially when you listen to their entire albums these guys are wizards. Live just as amazing. [yt=425,350]YtkDGNYAmaA[/yt] |
