Title: Vargs Mustang Project
Post by: Varg on July 21, 2009, 01:09:08 AM
I am going to detail this project in a thread here to annoy JT.
This is a 2000 model Mustang GT convertable. When i bought it used it was bone stock. Still has factory stereo, exhaust, intake etc.   Has detailed maintance records, still has excellent compression. responds well.
The only thing I have done so far is add a MAC cold air intake.

My short term plans are as follow:
1- Exhaust. Leaning on Magnaflow over everything else. They seem to have a good muscle tone without sounding like glass packs. In a ideal world I would get a borla system but its just too expensive.
2- Ebiach Springs (pro kit)
3- Steeda underdrive pulleys (have the dampner built into the crank pulley as for more betterness)
4- MAYBE a set of cobra wheels, not really sure what i want on wheels yet. Will see how the stock gt 17s look once i lower it with the springs
5- Hurst short throw shifter.
Later:
6- New Trick Flow Twister Wedge heads
7- Mild cam
8- 3.73 gears
9- Kenn Belle Supercharger with mild boost. I am not sure I will do this with stock internals, may get a rebuild done first.

These pictures were taken with a crappy camera. There were taken just after i bought it (no cai). I need an SLR damnit.

With it breaking down every 100 miles this is going to be quite the feat

Wassup Vanilla Ice?!  Careful with that underdrive pulley.  Might consider a cooler thermostat and/or a underdrive pulley for your alternator to prevent cooling/charging problems.  Good looking car though.  I take a lot of flack for my Miata, so it feels good to dish a little back out.

Yea I am going to go with a set of pulleys. Vanilla Ice drove a '92 5.0 if my MTV memories serve me correctly.

you know i'm a little hurt and confused as to why there's more conversation going on in the two car threads than in the ERIN ANDREWS IS FUCKING NAKED thread that i started

I smell a boycott of the Erin Andrews thread. Nice ride Varg. I should have been doing the same thing with my jeep and started out doing it. It turned out to be more of a hassle to take pictures while working on it than just working on it.

It's probably because most of us work for a living and can't watch it until we get home.  :P

Holy Crap!! I'm tricking out my taurus the same way!  Twinkies!

Edit: by "tricking out" I mean "just trying to keep it running" and by "same way" I mean "not the same way at all".

You know what you need?  A wench on the front.  Every damn car needs a wench.  Rand you got a jeep where's your wench????

Psch, thats nothing, I've been tricking out my sweet ride for the past year. Here's a list of my improvements:

New rear fuel pump, drastically improves starting performance, went from starting half the time to starting all the time!

Rebuilt transmission, now including OVERDRIVE!!

New Transfer case, holy crap now I have reverse!!

Cosmetics, put the driver side window back on the track for that easy glide up and down motion
