Well, I for one welcome our new low income overlords.   

I hate to burst your bubble but its been like that for years now. Ive been lay off or moved to another job so a Minority could fill the quota set by our gov. Personaly i thank our First Black President for that, Clinton. ( I still think he was one of the best, Tied with Regan really, but had his faults)

Yea but this is BILLIONS of dollars being spent by the government to help the NATION (minus of course whites, skilled works, or those recently unemployed). Its a crock of shit.

I remember in December some group was bitch that obama sen. set had to go to a black person because there was only 2 other senators that were black, and that we were races because we didn't Vote in more black people. He also kept saying that it was eravent that the seat was open when the last Black senator was elected Precedent.

I know its been sensationalized by extreme right wing nut jobs, but this is Obama's Economic Advisor and freaking just said that Race and gender are a factor in if you get economic stimulus in the economic growth plan.

Seriously.

I'm not saying I agree with what the man is saying, but just to bring you up to speed this isn't an unherad of practice in our government.

Now if we look a little closer at what the man said, they were stating that public works projects involving construction would largely benefit white males.  I can't speak for the white part but I am willing to bet there are way more men in construction then women.

I am not sure I like the the way they are talking about trying to balance things out, but I can see what they are saying.  It'd be nice to make sure everyone gets a slice of the pie across our workforce.   

Thats the rub though. Who cares what race it benefits. We are all equal right? And affirmative action is a load of shit too. A minority has made it to the president, can we now get back to that whole EQUALITY thing instead of giving preferential treatment based on race? Just my 2 cents on that.

Well, if one group of people benefit from something then how does that make it equal?  And it's a little silly to say that because a minority has made it to the highest office in the land that 200 years of this sort of shit is just going to fizzle out.   

Again, I don't think doing it by race is the answer more by area would be my call.  Say some sort of sliding scale by income level and number of local business per region.
 

I dont look at it like one group of people are going to benifit. Now if a certain industry EXCLUDES a certain group based on race that is another problem, i just dont think that is the case. The comment about affermative action and Obama being prez is just a way of pointing out how stupid affermative action is. If the majority voted the man in, then the majority are not racist people who would hire some one based on race, and the majority shouldnt be subject to affermative action. Just my though. Minorities have had a hard time in the past but i think we have progressed way more than we have give ourself credit for.

If they were to say "Hey lets make sure that landscapers get some of this stimulus cause a lot of hispanic people do landscaping", that actually sounds a little racist. It is ok, however, to say stuff like "most construction workers are white". Just a thought.

While I'd love to see a return to local radio, legislation ain't the way to do it.  I highly doubt he'll get far with that.  After all, it was the government that let companies like Clearchannel buy up so much of our airwaves. 

Local radio will return once it makes money. because of there is money in it. someone will do it

Hey I am ALL for radio. It was my degree in college and I worked at the two 2 stations on campus. You are right I don't like listening to terrestrial radio anymore.....they have nothing to offer me. They don't play the music I like and they don't gamble and stray off the "safe bet" music selections. Also the 20 minutes of commercials is a bit too much. Now that I can get ESPN radio on satellite clear channel can go fuck themselves
