Not necessarily true, Phelps trained in Ann Arbor (Club Wolverine) for the past 4 years, but he's listed as a Maryland resident. So your theory is somewhat flawed my friend. Oh, and Monterey California is a nice place to live, if you can afford it. The restaraunts there are great and the people aren't all pricks. Plus, they filmed Star Trek IV at the aquarium in Monterey, but claimed it was in SF.
