He writes his zeros funny.

At least we now know that the chance of life on another planet is anywhere from 1 to 400 Billion, depending on good you are at making up math numbers.

Well, he's not really making them up per say.  We have one known planet in our system that contains life and 2 other likely candidates.   If almost every star in the solar system has planets I don't think it's that much of a leap to say 25% of them have planets that are likely candidates.
